aah. aaah. aaaaaaah. CHOOOOO!

Pass the tissue, please!

Our house was invaded by some nasty junk last week.  It all started on Monday, when I went to pick up the kids. The after school caregivers were concerned that Chan was feeling out of sorts, and just wanted to sit out.  We took him home, had him rest, and sometime around midnight, the high temperature woke him (and us!) up. He went to two doctors last week, and will have sinus x-rays today.  Poor guy! His fever broke on Saturday night, and of course, my husband came home sick on Friday. Adri had a day of yuck. . . so there were TONS of sniffles and lots of yucky runny noses over the weekend in our house. I am so ready for all this pollen and junk to LEAVE US ALONE!

While blog browsing, I came across Jami’s post here. Loved her candle pedestals, and thought, hMMM, I have a plain tissue box from Prima (that was on sale at Target last week. . . SCORE!), why not use some of that precious Basic Grey paper and make it ME? So off I went to get my fingers nice and gross. . . and avoid the sickos in my house, too!

I covered the corners and edges with Only Orange Craft ink, and when it dried, Mod Podged on some Romani paper from Basic Grey (get yours here – I can’t wait for my new Phoebe & Perhaps papers!). After that dried, I brushed it with more Mod Podge to seal. Easy peasy, and now I have a pretty tissue box for my stamp room!

Uh Oh..my middle child came home feeling this way yesterday..and sure enough come 3 am….while i’m in mid dream with johnny deep…my four year old wakes me and says “I feel hot mommy!” I spring up..and press my lips to her forehead..yes I still test of temp that way..and ran to put her in the tub. While she was soaking I got out the Tylenol..of course, just enough for one last dose…and gave it to her while I bath her. Needless to say it was almost an hour before she got back to sleep and I, at the wee four am hour was off to Wal Mart to get more medicine. I thought heh I better go now, since my husband is home, then cart her and her baby sister to WalMart. Anyway, I guess I should go make one of these boxes too!!! It seems like the start of our cycle! Hope your’s sees its end soon!

What a lovely tissue box! I’ve been through 2 1/2 boxes of tissues in the past week. I hope the cooties both our houses soon.

Now this is a super cool tissue box holder! Whenever I hear people say I made a ’tissue keeper’ or something of the sort, all I can think of are those hideous crochet ones my grandma used to have in every room. This is definitely something I would be proud to put out!

okay so after i saw this..as soon as my husband walked in the door..i told him i was off to target..being the well trained husband he is..he asks no question..i give him the final instruction on dinner..load my older one and my younger one..remember the middle girl is sick..and head off the target…SO..now they are on clearance..i got mine for 1.18 each…yes of course i was horrible and bought the last six left. I debated on getting the jewelry box and the vases..but i thought heh..my husband can understand six..not twenty. so i don’t have basic grey paper. The two places I looked are out of stock..but heh..of course it is..anyway..Needless to say my day will be spent covering a tissue box! thanks Jenn
