Love. This. Sketch.
Posted by Jenn on September 14th, 2007
Oh my. I love this week’s sketch! Not a lot of stamping this time around (suprise, suprise!) . . .
I can’t wait to check out what Beate, Charmaine, Lori, and Sharon did with this one! My color choices were totally inspired by the Twilight collection that I got sucked into last week thanks to Kristina Werner. All three books were stacked up on my stamping table, and I thought, “hmmmmmmmm. . .” and then went digging through my patterned paper stash for this luscious stuff. Here’s my interpretation:

detail of poppy:

Stamps: StampendousPoppy Stems and SU!Absolutely Fabulous
Ink: Palette Noir. White Stazon (I swiped it on the already-distressed paper so I’d have a spot to stamp the sentiment. It got a little smudgy. I should have waited for it to dry!) Pearlescent Poppy Brilliance and Versamagic Hint of Pesto were applied with Fantastix. I went over the image with an aquapainter and pearlescent goldTwinkling H20s to make it less line-arty.
Papers: Red and black textured cardstock, SU!. Patterned paper: red is Daisy D’s Railway Journal , both black & white papers are from 7gypsies (here and here)
Accessories: Ginormous flower is from Prima Essentials (I think this was a hibiscus from the Caribbean collection). The center is black satin ribbon on a make-your-own button (I didn’t buy from that place, but it shows how it was done) and the black thingees (are they stamen?) are from the SU! Pretties kit, and colored black with a journaling marker to make the flower more poppy-like. I added Swarovski crystals with glue dots. Ribbon is May Arts (I think, it was in one of my jars!).

Twilight Huh!I LOVE them!!!! I wish my husband… Edward… Oh well…it’s fiction right? My 13 year old is in love with Edward too and she’s not even at the boy crazy stage yet. I think I have read the first book 5 times, the others only twice. ENJOY!
Love the card. It is a great interpretation of the beautiful covers of the books.
