What I did this weekend

Appreciated the beautiful blue Southeast Texas skies, 90-something degree heat, the smell of fresh country air, the wind in my hair as I rode in the back of the pickup truck and snapped this shot of my daughter and my second cousins doing just what their moms and I used to do when we were that age . . .

. . . dangle our feet off of the tailgate and ride out in the pastures of the family farm.

Just a good time today.  It was good to be back where my dad grew up. Good to see my aunts, uncles, cousins and second and third cousins, and eat and talk about everything. Good to recharge.

Did a little scrapbooking, too. Still haven’t gotten around to making a file folder card for Beate’s weekend challenge, and hope to do that tomorrow.

What an awesome picture it looks like they had a wonderful time. I use ride on the tailgate around the ranch with my cousins when we visited my family in New Mexico… that was so long ago. I wish Riley and Austin’s cousin were closer in age to them, their missing out on all the fun and crazy things cousin do together.
