That’s what you get when you meet people you know from splitcoast. There’s none of that weird, awkward period . . . do you shake hands? Do you just stand there? Forget all that. . . splitcoast friends go right in for a hug! And good rock-side-to-side and squeeze each other, hugs, too. It was so good to get lots of that in last weekend in Portland (read Beverly’s post to get what I couldn’t put into words), and super special to get it at home! Good times, good times.
Today I had the pleasure of hosting Sherry Cheever (of Jefferson, Indiana), Jeanne Streiff (of San Marcos, just up the road a bit), and Carolyn King (of just across the street, practically!) for an afternoon of stamping, coloring, laughing, and later, some sightseeing and eating.
Click for more blahblah about the day!
The lovely ladies brought a TON (literally!) of stamps to play with (that stack up there was just a few of what Jeanne brought!), and we all stamped a bunch of images and went to coloring. Check ’em out, hard at work!
It was so fun watching Jeanne play with Copics and trying out different inks and papers. We spent a coupla hours doing that, and then got hungry. . . Carolyn went home (and we so missed her at dinner!), and we hopped in the car and headed downtown. One of Sherry’s “had to” dos was to go to the Riverwalk. I was more than happy to show her my city, so we took in a riverboat tour of the Riverwalk.
It was perfect weather, and we went at just the right time, too. Not too many people (thank goodness! That many bodies up against each other when it’s normally warm just grosses me out!) were downtown, and it was so breezy and peaceful!
All of that walking and cruising had us hungry, and I was determined to have Sherry eat Mexican food on the Riverwalk. Here’s a really cruddy picture of us at dinner:
MMMMMMM. . . . dinner was great, dessert was better, and the company. . . wonderful. I had such a great time, ladies!
See y’all Wednesday ~ we’re going to meet Kurtis and his family at Stamp Antonio!
