A little bit about me and some of the things I love.

A sketch for the birds.

I do love this sketch - it’s one of those old reliables. Everything works with it! Funny thing is, this is so not what I’d started out with for this week’s sketch. That card is still off on my desk. . . somewhere! I spent some time organizing my patterned paper on Thursday. Again. I’ve been going through the cubbies the paper’s in and removing the “eewww, what was I thinking” sheets. Those are now in a stack for Adri’s use (since getting her own digital camera for Christmas, she’s been a scrapbookin’ fool with tons of her own supplies). I also separated stacks from red/pink/orange/yellow into individual colors. Yeah, sometimes it takes me a little bit to realize that I don’t like digging through stuff to find *exactly* what I am looking for. ‘Cause you know, I don’t always know what I want until I see it peeking out of a stack. You know how that goes, right?

Anyway, in the blue/green stack that I was separating, I found this pretty Scenic Route tree pattern that I bought sometime last spring, maybe . . . and a scrap of this Collage Press pattern I’d used on a card before, and thought. . . hmm, that would look cute with a birdie from that SU! set. So, while watching Lost (during commercials. . . can’t miss a shot of Sawyer, right?) and catching up with a friend who came over to watch TV with us, this is what I did. It’s not all matchy-matchy, but I’m okay with that!

What’d I use here?

Paper - Card base is Old Olive textured cardstock. Or Bazzill. I don’t know, ’cause the solid sheets aren’t labeled and they’re currently all jumbly and sort of sorted by color and brand . . . but it sure is pretty! I linked the tree paper and the Collage Press stuff above (though I’ve never ordered from the site I found the CP paper on. . . that stuff is hard to find online!), and also used Poison Ivory, and SU! Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip. The scallop on the Collage Press pattern was trimmed by hand. Time consuming, but I thought it was pretty.

Ink - Chocolate Chip & Tempting Turquoise. The fake ribbon was colored with a Certainly Celery marker after I realized it didn’t fit anywhere I thought it would and I was too lazy to figure something else out.

Stamps - Always from SU!

Accessories - Two circles and a scallop punch from SU!, Fiskars 1/8″ handheld punch, foam mounting tape (for the fake ribbon and to pop up the bird I had to stamp and trim around to cover the previous bird I thought I’d color the flowers on. . . big mistake!) , random ribbon from my stash, tiny Swarovski crystals

Make sure to check out what the other girls have created with this week’s sketch from Beate on their blogs. I’m sure Beate, Cami, Charmaine, Laurie, Lori, Mary Jo, and Sharon would love to hear from ya!

Have a wonderful weekend. . . we’ll be painting the hallway, living room, and breakfast nook/kitchen! Anyone close by is welcome to come and pitch in. I’ll feed you. . . :D
