It’s a lot easier to say it than actually do it, right? I mean, if I was *really* living the life I’ve imagined, my stamping table would not look like this, would it? Or maybe it would, ’cause that would mean I’d have time to create something I loved every day, not just on late on Thursday nights, up against a deadline. Some day. . . .
So this mess and the piles of paper and embellishments and stuff turned into this card for Beate’s weekly sketch challenge:
I love this Thoreau quote from Unity Stamp Co. Angela has so many fabulous things that are so fun to play with, and I thought it would be fun to pair this shimmery patterned paper (leaves, dots, mod swirly, turquoise) (and the coordinating felt and softie embellishments!) from KI Memories with it. It’s kinda busy, but I like it! If I was going to remake the card, though, I’d go with different paper for the scallops and ditch the Stickles. The blue kinda gets kinda lost, but I was not pulling it all up and starting again after trying to make do with a broken Cuttlebug plate. Yeah, I tried to shove too many layers of shims into the machine, and cracked a plate . . . . Plus, it looks so pretty on the new Scor-Mat from Scor-Pal. Seriously, that thing is awesome! See how the old Fiskars mat is piled up with crap fun stuff over on the corner in the top picture? I love that with the Scor-Mat, I have a guaranteed work surface when I have this on my table.
Here’s a closer shot that’s a little more in focus. That one up above. . . I’m a little too lazy to retake tonight!
So there’s my first card of the new (school) year! Make sure to check the sketch out at Beate’s blog, see what she’s stamped (whoohoo, good to have ya back!), and then visit Cami, Charmaine, Laurie, Lori, Mary Jo, & Sharon, too. I can’t WAIT to get back into the swing of things and see their gorgeous creations. . . I’ve been such a blog slacker this summer, so this will make me jump right back in!
Kids go back to school on Monday, and we have another fun weekend planned. Life is good! Thanks for visiting today!
