Candy of any kind makes me happy – I love chocolate ’cause it’s so rich and velvety, but oh! the colors of hard candy! This stamp from this month’s cute Unity Stamp Co. kit reminds me of walking to the neighborhood store with a handful of change and coming home with a sack full of sugar and a cold Coke in a glass bottle . . . Good times!
This week’s sketch from Beate was a little more difficult than I thought it would be (and you can tell I was hittin’ the hard stuff with the full-sugar Dr. Pepper back there, huh?) and this was actually my second try (see the first one here). Here’s what I finally ended up with after coloring the image with Copics, adding Kaiser bling and Stickles and cutting with Nestabilities:

We had a fun-filled time in Dallas last weekend (which started with a big delay at the airport and ended with my husband getting a tetanus shot)! Here’s my very happy husband at the Cowboys game:

Not too shabby, huh? It was the first pre-season game in the very last season at Texas Stadium, and there were TONS of people there. It was hot and we (by we, I mean the kids and I) were cranky, but my man was happy!
We spent Saturday at the Zoo, had dinner with sweet Beverly and Ron, and left the hotel at o’dark thirty Sunday morning. After a little mishap at the airport food court (Mike ended up needing a tetanus shot after accidentally punching a hole in the nail on his pointer finger) and an otherwise uneventful trip home, we’re all looking forward to a weekend with no plans. I’m excited about getting to play with my unused stamps and stuff, and just not leaving the house!

Hmmm, love this card…love candy…love long weekends! We canceled travel plans to just ‘hang out’ this weekend. Can’t wait! DR looks so happy in that photo – you are the wife to make that trip happen – hope his finger is healing ok. Hugs!

How sweet, LOL! I love that image and reminds me of spending a bit of change at the local candy store. It is still there and our kids love it, but change doesn’t cut it any more……. Looks like you had a fun weekend despite the delay and mishap.
