My sweet friend Val from Cal just tagged me with these instructions, so I figured, why not! If anything, it means I can put off figuring out what to do for my sketch challenge card for a little bit longer. . .
•Open your photo folder on your computer
•Open the 6th folder of photos
•Select the 6th picture
•Post the picture on your blog with a description
•Invite six friends to join the challenge
•Link your six friends to your blog post
I opened iPhoto, and after “Once you go Mac,” “Contact Photos,” “Park,” “Karate,” and “Splitcoast”. . . there it was, “Convention 2005.”
Beate and I had decided in 2004 that we were NOT going to sit at home again while seemingly everyone else had fun at convention. We were GLUED to our computers for any little bit of news and just knew we had to be there the next time around. As soon as we could, we registered, booked flights and hotels, and started shopping for clothes and making plans to meet up with friends we’d met and gotten to know on Splitcoast. Meeting so many fabulous friends in real life for the first time was overwhelming and wonderful and such an experience. Here is the 6th picture in the 6th folder, taken on registration day in Salt Lake City. I love this shot, no matter how out-of-focus it is. . .
Beate, Pine, and me meeting for the first time.
and look at this one, taken that same night before we all chowed down on pizza one night:
Val, Julie, Pine
Looking at these pictures, I can still remember Julie calling from downstairs, meeting her at the door of our room, and seeing her flop on our bed in her cute little skirt, hear the squeals and feel the warm hugs, and remember the fun we all had getting together. Meeting with mods and designers, our first big Splitcoast shindig. . . Good times, good times. And that was just the beginning of trips to meet my Splitcoast friends! I’m so blessed to have met so many of the people I know through that site in real life, so blessed to have real friendships because this guy worked on a little website in his kitchen (and now I work on it from mine), so blessed to just know this amazing group of people. Happy, happy sigh. .
Now, to tag six people. . . Y’all come play now, ya hear?
and Jami
Be sure to come back tomorrow. Cami’s our sketch hostess, and it’s a fun one! See you then!

Look at everyone! Boy that takes me down memory lane for sure1 Thanks for playing along, Jenn!
Is Julie Ebersole ever unhappy? Every photo I’ve ever seen of her, she has the biggest, cutest grin. Love it!
Oh how fun, Jenn! What great pictures!
Ha, that’s exactly what I said around 10:30 last night when Lori sent me her link — “let’s kill some more time, instead of stamping”! Great photos!
