Challenging project

embellishblog.jpg

I got to play a little in the Splitcoaststampers Dare to Get Dirty challenges, and made a project that worked for quite a few of them!  Jami challenged us to use blue and embellishments, Bonnie wanted wings, Laurie wanted ribbon, Krystie clear things, and Tracy wanted bags. I think I got ’em all in with one project. The only thing I *didn’t* get in was treats for the inside to make it fit Carole‘s challenge. I went to check my stash, and it’s all gone. . .   I’ll bet I have little critters (read: kids home for the summer!) who’ve been snacking on my stuff!

The box started out as a 12″ x 12″ sheet of screen printed acetate from Hambly. The blue matches SU!’s Bermuda Bay perfectly.  I scored to create a 2″ x 3″ box with no top or bottom, and then scored and scalloped some cardstock to make the bottom. I very loosely followed the directions here.  The top is just pinched together and covered with a little cardstock tent, and the ribbon was threaded through holes I punched through all the layers.  For supplies, click here.
I hope y’all are all enjoying the challenges. From the looks of the gallery, you sure are! I can’t wait to go back and get a better look this weekend. Thanks SO much for supporting the site with your Fan Club memberships, and for playing along in the challenges this week!

Awesome box Jenn. I see you have the same critters running around your house & getting into the treats that I do.

OHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve been trying to stay out of the DTGD gallery until my projects are done….I created a clear box too (had to fill mine with chocolate chips…the only “goodies” I had left!!) Seeing your box makes me realize why my creations are on a different level of the DD gals!! This is GORGEOUS!!

Ooooohhhh, love this! I can totally imagine black and clear printed transparencies for either a Halloween goodie bag or even a more formal wedding favor!

    Thanks for sharing!
