Here’s a little (well, not really little – it’s 6″ x 6″) card I finished this morning after sending the kids off to school. I seem to be needing more birthday cards lately, so I figured I’d stock up! I colored a bunch of birthday-ish images this weekend and plan to use the same layout on all the cards. Quick, easy, done!
It’s pretty straightforward, so I’ll get right to the stuff.Stamps: Sassy Sentiments and Francesca from Kraftin’ Kimmie. Ink: Memento’s Tuxedo Black + Copics (see this pic for details) Paper: A whole buncha randomness from my scrap pile. Accessories: Oval + Scalloped Oval Nestabilities, foam boosters, ribbon and button from my stash, Martha Stewart punch.
And right on to an announcement. . . .
As you may have seen on Marianne’s blog, I’ve joined the Copic certification team! I’ll be working with Sharon and Lori to bring certification classes to the middle of the US. I can’t wait to get started. If you are interested in receiving information about any upcoming certification classes in your area of the country, you can sign up at right here.
Now, the giveaway! Leave a comment letting me know what your favorite Copic storage solution is and I’ll use random.org sometime Saturday morning to choose a winner. What will you receive if you win? An empty 24pc wallet, perfect for stashing some markers in your purse so that you can color while waiting anywhere. Also, make sure to visit the other instructors’ blogs for their own giveaways. 🙂 Lots of chances to win!

Congratulations! That’s great news. As for marker storage, I struggle with that. I’m waiting for the new Copic marker case to be available for purchase, so right now I’m using one of those totes, which is way better than my last storage solution–a pencil case.
Congrats…I’m sure you’ll run some fun classes!
I store my own markers in IKEA hanging cutlery tubs. They used to hang off my “sink organizer” on my desk, but since I tend to drag my colouring in front of the TV, they’re now stored (still separated by colour group in the cutlery tubs) in a larger, portable plastic bin. I have a 36 Copic folder that holds some of my (constantly changing) favourites, but it’s a bit big to throw in my purse. I’d love to win your 24-count wallet, so thanks for the opportunity.
Congratulations! I use a turnable organizer that has several little shelves on one side. I got this at Michaels. I would love to have a wallet as I keep wanting my Copics with me when I am driving the kids to their different activities. I love to colour and that would certainly pass the time faster waiting for them.
I’m just getting started in my Copic collection so I don’t have very many. I want to get them all but it will have to take time.
Since I don’t have very many mine are now kept in a little bucket. Thanks for the give away chance!
Woo hoo, Jenn!! You’re a perfect addition to the Copic team!!! I currently store my Copic markers in plastic boxes on my desk top, but have nowhere to store them when I travel. I need this case!!
oh my, how fun for you!!! congrats on that fun new gig!! you’re the bomb…big hugs for you!!! oh, and my storage..i bought my copic ciao’s in 4 sets, i just keep them in the acrylic boxes they came in…not ideal…but it works for now!:)
Congrats on the new gig!
My favorite Copic storage: two metal picnic containers from Walmart. They are made specifically to hold 6 beer bottles I’m sure since they came with bottle openers on a chain.
Congratulations on your “new job”.
WAHOO!! You go girl! Love this bright, fun card!
My favorite storage is this bucket thingy that I got from a friend…I think it came from the Target garden section for picnics and such, but it works great, and travels well!
Congratulations Jenn!!! How very cool. I JUST took the Certification class 2 weeks ago in St. Louis – fabulous time. Love my Copics. Sally Lynn was our instructor. If you ever teach near me I’ll be sure to come and visit! :0)
Love this image and saying… So so cute!!
Congratulations!!!! I am a beginner copic user and so my copics are in plastic bags organized by like skin tone, blond hair, etc. I have seen copic storage cubies that I would love to have, but for now this system seems to work for me.
Congrats, Jenn!! Wonderful news!!
Love the card! Thanks for sharing. I am currently using a Pampered Chef Tool Turnabout for my Copics but I would love to have a more portable storage solution for coloring on the go. The copic storage wallets are on my wish list. Thanks for the chance to win!
Wow, wish I had Copics to store! One day I will break into that coloring medium!
Congrats to you!! How exciting it must be. As to my storage ‘solution’? I currently have my copics in one of those cubes from Mich**%L’s with the two drawers that has dividers. They are divided by color. Not very portable for sure!!
Congrats on your new position with the Copic Certification team! I have some of my markers stored on an elastic-banded stand-up holder from a rolling scrap cart, but the Sketch markers fit too snugly. The rest of my markers are in a plastic tub. Would love the Color Cubbie system. . .one day! Thanks for a chance to win this wallet for travel purposes!
Congrats to you!! I am also new to the world of copics so I keep the only set I have in the storage box they came in! Pitiful I know but one day……..
Don’t include me in your drawing. 🙂 Just saying I love your card! Hugs!
Congratulations Jenn! My favorite storage solution would be that wallet (I am just beginning my collection 🙂
RIGHT ON WOMAN!!!!! May the Copic force be with you! LOL! Wonderful news about teaching the certification classes. And your card…your big card (lol) SUPER CUTE! My favorite storage…right now I have several buckets and a few Copic plastic cases. Not my favorite. BUT…I have some shelf things coming…so I’ll see how they work. Gotta have my markers out on my desk ready to use at all times!
Congrats on your certification!
I also have my Copic collection stored in the hanging stainless cutlery containers…except mine is not hanging…I just have it laying on its side:-) I travel quite a bit with work and, I have been transferring them to an old Creative Memories pouch I have left over from days gone by to take with me. This wallet is EXACTLY what I need so I can keep my Copics organized with I am on the road. Thanks for the chance to win!
Congratulations Jenn! I just bought my first copics markers just this month. I have not had a chance to use them yet. I am looking around for something that I can store them in for now. This wallet would be a good start. Thanks for a chance to win.
Congrats and welcome to the team. The wallet looks like a perfect storage solution since counter space is limited.
Congratulations Jenn! I am pretty new to Copics so my storage solutions are minimal…which means I just toss the half dozen copics I have in a plastic box. I am hoping my Copics will grow and then I’m forced to come up with an idea for storage (not such a bad dilemma if I have to).
Congratulations Jenn. Maybe you can hitch a ride with Maryanne and Lori when they come to Australia in the next few weeks. I’m hoping to meet them then, but it’s not looking good 🙁 I guess I’m on the waiting list.
I use the clear 72 storage case for my Copics. I like it because it hold all my markers and because it’s clear I can see how pretty they look together.
I’m in Australia so I can’t be entered but I wanted to congratulate you anyway.
I love your card the cupcakes are darling, wish I was better at small images. I love Copic’s have 175 so far and am obsessed with them and as Sally Lynn said ‘Practice, practice, practice’.
God Bless,
Jeanine
Cute card!!! Copic storage….don’t really have that problem as I only have about a dozen of them. Have a long list of colors to get soon. I have them in a little bucket on my desk at the moment.
No problem with Copic storage, I don’t have any! If I won a wallet, I guess that would start me on my journey with Copics! I love to color but just had not the time or money to indulge. Other markers are just sitting around so I gotta start getting organized as well. Love your card.
Congrats!! I’m new to Copics so my stash is small but I’ve outgrown my cute little tulip vase and I’m looking for something bigger to set on my table.
Congrats on your new role!! How exciting!! Right now my Copic markers are in little bins that I got from the dollar store!! I’m outgrowing it so I need to find a new way !!
Congrats Jenn! You’ll be a fabulous instructor I’m sure!!! Your card is super super cute!
I’m laughing because I just told Sharon I didn’t need that wallet, and then I read your comment about taking Copics with you to color anywhere and I’ve changed my mind! 😉 My fave Copic storage at home is my new Color Cubbies.
As I said on Marianne’s blog Congrats! How exciting. I am so happy for you. At this moment I am using the Quickutz magpie unit for my Copics. I love it when I am at home, but I can’t just take it into the bedroom at night to color. (That is one of my favorite times to color) So I have been looking around for some differant ideas. Thanks and again Cograts to you. Lisa G at [email protected]
Congrats! I don’t have any Copics (YET!), so maybe if I win the wallet, I will have to fill it! Then, it will be my fav storage!
I am so excited for you Jenn!! I think this is just the cat’s meow!! I store my Copics in a rack from Carpe Diem. I’m looking at maybe changing this up as I’ve outgrown my current two racks, so I’ll be reading everyone’s comments! 😀
Congrats! Right now I’m using a Pampered Chef spinning holder. I love it. A wallet would be great to take along with me when I have errands to run though.
Right now they’re in a Pampered Chef spinning thing, but I’d love to win a wallet to take with me on errands.
Congrats, Jenn, that’s fantastic! You are a great colorer (if that’s a word!) so I’m sure you’ll be great! I actually use a 36 and a 24-marker wallet for my Copics. I’m about ready to need another one! 😉 I like the wallets because they are easy to transport and I can easily see all the colors.
Some of my copics have a wallet but some are grouped together with elastic bands or poked into a wallet that holds other markers and they don’t fit too well! well done on joining the team
Right now I have them stored on their side on my shelf… I would love to have a wallet for storage… I love the mini-shelves I’ve seen some people use!
Congratulations on your new status! Too bad you’re so far away…Your coloring is just outstanding, & I, too, love to color. I’ve got a ways to go though…I store my copics in plastic x-boxes from Office Max. It works for me, as I can divide the categories of colors. But travel is another story. I use gallon-sized ziplock baggies. Sounds like I NEED your wallet, huh?
Congrats Jenn!
I use the containers the Ciao Markers came in and a plastic Iris Storage container for my sketch markers. Thanks for the opportunity to win!!!
Hey Jenn, have fun with your Copic work, you will be a great addition to the team!!! I love love love your card, lots of perfect Jenn colour as sass!!! I have given my Father the task of building me some cubbies for my Copics, want them out of lightweight materials so that I can pick one up and take it with me if I choose to colour somewhere else…also want them to be horizontally stacked not vertically. I don’t think he can quite believe how many variations of cubbies are out there, I have had him blurfing around, he is just amazed at all of the paper crafters and their storage solutions… hope you are well!!!
Congratulations Jenn. You will do a fantastic job with this.. Your card is adorable.. So you want to know what our favorite storage is…Well mine at the moment is just taking all your markers and shoving them into a basket tightly so they don’t fall out… But my dream storage is the wooden cubicles I have seen out there in blog land. I want to ask my hubby to build me one but that would mean him actually seeing how many markers I own.. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win and good luck with your new adventure.
Dawn
OH Jenn! What a gorgeous birthday card featuring Francesca!! Love the colours and layout! And congrats on the new job….what a fun job! That’s awesome!
OMG Yeah! Congrats on the certification and being an instructor! That is *so* amazing 🙂 I am going to *have* to see when and where you’re teaching! If you’re ever in my area LMK!
I have a few of the ciao sets that I am dying to upgrade to sketch or the square ones. I keep my Ciao sets in the Copic boxes they came in with the lids off. I use the … See Morelids for storing other markers such as my bic it and Spica. I keep them grouped by color so I can just pull out the color grouping I want and slide it back onto it’s shelf. It works for me 🙂
Right now they are in no order–I have no storage system–so they are stashed in one of my favorite Longaberger basket. Congrats on your achievement!
Congrats to my fellow San Antonian!
The few Copics I have are in my Making Memories desktop carousel. Thanks for the chance to win!
Congrats! A favorite solution that I’ve seen are cubbies that store the Copics by colors.
carol b.
Congrats Jenn……wish I lived closer so I could take a class from you!!!
I store the few Copics I own in a little plastic drawer.
Thanks for a chance to win!!
Hi Jenn: I love that layout! I haven’t used it for a while, so I need to go give it a whirl today! Thanks for sharing. I too just have a baby copic collection right now (12 – 15 maybe) so they’re all just in a bucket. I do write the name of the “Stampin Up” color that I am trying to match with that copic on the side of the copic with a sharpie so make it quick when I’m trying to match an SU color. That’s been very helpful. My plan is to take my acrylic 2 x 2 x 5 ” tall boxes that I bought many of years ago for “snowman poop” gifts and store my copics by color family… but first I need to clear some room in my stamp room. Have a great day!
Congrats! That is such an exciting honor!
I store my copics in a white tin that is shaped like a flower pot.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Congrats!! That is awesome news!! I have been so hoping for some classes in the midwest….My copics are continuing to grow and right now I am storing them in a plastic caddy that is divided. Works for now, but I am beginning to grow out of it…normally this would be a bad thing. But in this case it is VERy good! 🙂
Congratulations. I am just learning with my copics. Hope to get much better soon. Hope I win,
JeanMarie
Congratulations…this must be one of the best jobs ever!
Congratulations Jenn! I use a scrapbooking caddy that is the perfect height for the copic markers.
Right now I have the small hard plastic storage box. But I’ve outgrown it and haven’t found anything else I like for storage. The plastic boxes are ok, but I’d like something where the lid doesn’t come off so easy.
Congrats!
I just store my markers in an old McD giveaway from years ago…Disney glasses. So far it works for me. And this is perfect for Earth Day. *grin*
as a new Copic girl…I am exploring storage..I do like the tin bucket thing..Amuse sells..do you have a favorite…sure hope I win this..
cute card–great coloring

Your card is soooo adorable, Jenn…and congratulations on joining the Copic Team!! You are a fantastic addition!! (Please do not enter me into the drawing). 😀
Congratulations, Jenn! I am so happy for ya! My fav copic storage is from studio 3 solutions. I’ve tried other containers, but these are wonderful for easy access on my desk! I don’t have any type of portable storage… this wallet would be ideal for on the go! Love it!!!
Happy coloring… and that’s a great idea about keeping the same layout for quick and easy birthday cards. I’m gonna have to ‘steal’ that idea… Thanks!
Hi jenn! thankyou for this opportunity to win! I like using my Magpie storage shelves for my copics. However, when I travel, well, that’s a different story. So, this would be quite nice!
I just purchased at Archivers a small micro-fiber tote by mackinac moon. I will use this for traveling. The inside measures 7″Lx4″Wx6″H with a divided main compartment, I’m going to further divide these 2 compartments so my pens will stay upright better. Also, it has pockets on the outside. It’s a pretty gray with blue trim and lined with paisley and flowers. I feeling kinda “psycho” since my first order of sketch markers haven’t come yet!
I only have a few copics and I store them in a cute watering can.
cngrats…..welcome. You will have a nice time playing with the copics and teaching us to have a great time too.
Congratulations! I have the white storage boxes from Studio 3!
Congratulations Jenn — it’s nice to meet you! Not that it’s my FAVORITE storage for my precious Copics, but I use divided Art Bin hinged boxes.
I keep mine in an old baby wipes (plastic) box. It’s not the best for sorting, but it holds a TON and it’s easy to carry around.
Congrats Jenn! I knew you would end up somewhere great! They are SO lucky to have you!
Great card too!
I just wanted to pop by and say CONGRATULATIONS on joining the Copic Regional Instructors!! They are so lucky to have you!!! (I’m not commenting for the prize – especially considering I’m in Australia, just saying Congrats!!) 😀
Fun card!!! Thanks for sharing. And congratulation to you for your new duties!!! My storage solution is a plastic bin with a snap on lid that I bought at Wal-Mart. Let me ask you a question please. Are Copics to be stored horizontally or vertically?
Congratulations Jenn! What a wonderful opportunity. And such a fun one too. Love your card. The sentiment is great. I have a pencil box that I keep my Copics in. I don’t have very many so far but I’m working on that little by little as I get an extra few dollars to spend. Thanks for the chance to win!
Just saw the news and wanted to say CONGRATS Jenn!! Hhhmmmm…maybe I’ll have to try to come to one of YOUR classes!! 🙂 but don’t worry, I’ll leave Jack behind!
I just wanted to say congrats to you on joining the Copic Team! I get a lot of info from those gals and love you work too so it’s just a match made in Heaven! 🙂
Welcome!
I am so excited to be getting a copic set soon. Perhaps for Mother’s Day!
Love your blog and congratulations!!!
It doesn’t appear that my comment got posted.
Congratulations on being on the Copic Team!
I am looking forward to getting my first set
for Mother’s Day!!!
Congratulations Jenn!!!! You a super talented person and you will make a wonderful addition to the Copics Team!!!
I just found your site and I’m so excited to find as many site possible of those that have the COPIC expertise. I just started buying my markers and trying to color with them. I see that it takes some skills, but I’m willing to learn. I now have 25 markers and long for more. I keep them in a plastic rectangular container, with a lid, for now.
Congrats Jenn! I’m SO happy you are going to share your knowledge and talent with the fans of Copic markers. I love mine, and I have around a hundred of them – all kinds. I have a mixture of Sketch, Ciao, and original markers, and they are separated into color families in some re-purposed “Pringles” chip cans. I cut these cans down to be just a little shorter than the actual marker, and then covered with cardstock to match the color groups. This system is not portable, but it works just fine on my desk.
