A little bit about me and some of the things I love.

A cutie & a card

Posted by Jenn on September 7th, 2007

Here’s my take on Beate’s sketch, a scrapbook page showing off my sweet niece Sage. I dipped into my stash of cardstock and suplies for this one, and I’m so happy about the way it turned out! If you’d like to check out what Beate, Charmaine, Lori, and Sharon created, head on over to their blogs. First, though, let me gush a little!sagesketch.jpg

Most all of the pictures I have of Sage from the day of my grandparents’ 50th anniversary celebration are blurry. The little girl sure had her groove on! She’s the funniest little girl . . . I love her personality and that she’s so full of life! She’s a hoot to have around, and I really enjoy watching her and Adri play together. Adri takes her potty and helps her with whatever, and they giggle so much! I need to journal on the swoopy flourishes (they are rub-ons) before I frame it and give it to my sister for hanging.

Here’s one of four cards I made, all the same. Love stamping a sheet of cardstock with big bold flowers, then cutting it up for quick cards like this one. By adding a tag a la Valerie (punch a circle in the tag, then slit it to slide under the knot), I can make the card suit whatever situation I need it for!

Scrapbook page is 8×8.

Cardstock is Bazzill in a pretty Sage-y green (appropriate, eh?). Patterned paper behind pictures (stripe and brocade) are Amy Butler.

Ribbon is grosgrain from my stash, and rubons are Heidi Grace. The “follow your dreams” transparency on the right is by Making Memories.

Card details

Base is Not Quite Navy, next layer is Tempting Turquoise. Ribbon is Blue Bayou double stitched.

I stamped Fabulous Flowers on Soft Sky cardstock with Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Not Quite Navy, White Craft, Chocolate Chip, and my glue pad. I poured pretty blue glitter on, and chopped the cardstock up to make four identical cards. Easy peasy!

Wow!!!! The scrapbook page looks amazing!!! So does the card. What a smart idea to leave the sentiment off until you need the card.

I love the tag idea, but I’m being dumb… what do you mean by ’slit (tag) to slide under knot’? I saw Valerie’s card. Lovely.

Both of these projects are wonderful and full of “teaching moments” — adding the glitter element to a One Sheet Wonder is BRILLIANT — and that page — simply Mah-velous! LOVE the rub-ons. You use them soooooooo well!

how do you attach the transparency, huh?
Thanks so much for putting all this out there!

Awesome job! You are the best scrapper! And the card is so cute too…those one sheet stamping projects never look good when I try! The added glitter really helps it pop and stand out, maybe I will try again!

Your page is so adorable, and your card…so pretty. I leave sentiments off frequently as well. I like being able to add the proper one when the time arises.
